From Hustle to Harmony: Ili’s Transition Beyond Entrepreneurship
In the world of entrepreneurship, the hustle can be relentless. For one seasoned entrepreneur and TV personality, that pressure reached a breaking point, leading to a transformative decision that would shape her future. Today, she is one of the directors at Mee Tarik Holdings, overseeing Branding and Business Development for Mee Tarik Jalan Sultan. Her story is one of resilience and reinvention, inspired by non-negotiable self-care.
The Tipping Point to Transformation
After more than a decade of running her own businesses and being constantly in the spotlight, this entrepreneur found herself facing an unexpected challenge. In January 2024, a heart attack caused by stress forced her to slow down and reassess her life. During her six-month sabbatical, she took time to recover physically and mentally. It was in this period of reflection that she realized her need for stability and growth — something that was missing from her entrepreneurial journey.
The isolation of being an entrepreneur also weighed heavily on her. "Being an entrepreneur is very lonely," she shares. This led her to seek new opportunities beyond the entrepreneurial grind, eventually making the life-altering decision to take a full-time role at Mee Tarik Holdings. After numerous interviews, she found the perfect fit for her skills and passions.
Family: Her Daily Motivation
What keeps this busy professional motivated every day? Her family. "My son and my family keep me glowing daily," she says. Their unwavering support is a constant source of strength, helping her balance work and life.
The Self-Care Ritual
Self-care is a priority for this multi-tasking mom, though she admits it can be challenging with a full-time job and parenting responsibilities. "It’s hard to practice daily, but if I get at least three sessions a week, it’s a win," she says. Her self-care routine includes a 30-minute workout in the morning, a 10-minute grounding or meditation session during lunch, and a 20-minute "glow-up" time, which involves doing her hair and skincare routine. These small moments of self-love help her recharge and maintain balance.
Embracing New Beginnings
Her advice for those pursuing their own version of the #GlowGetter life is simple yet profound:
"It’s ok to start anything new, from scratch, at any age and at any time in your life."
She emphasizes that there is no single blueprint for a fulfilling life and that personal growth can come at any stage. "Remember, what you wish you had 10 years ago is your reality now."
Her journey serves as a reminder that change, whether through personal reflection or career shifts, can lead to fulfilling new chapters. Embracing these transformations with courage, along with the support of loved ones and a focus on self-care, is the key to thriving.
